The sound
Who knows PCM1702 sound??!
I would call it a kind of sterile PCM63 ...very similar compared to it but flatter!
This is a very very good DAC!!
It has superior performance compared to many DAC, very detailed and dynamic sound but in original economy setup (opamp deployed) is a little bit "sterile" and flat.
This DAC is made at all to work with tube stage!!!!! Tube gives it the warm 3D sound that it deserve, adding at its time a pleasant speed and dynamic tipical of this PCM1702!
The formula:
PCM1702+Tube stage=perfect balance!
